Privacy Policy

Effective July 30, 2026

Controller: CHO CHI CHO GmbH, Vulkanplatz 7, 8048 Zürich, Switzerland — support@chochicho.ch. The short version: our apps are built to keep your data on your device, and this website doesn’t track you.

1. This website

apps.chochicho.ch has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and sets no tracking cookies. Our hosting provider processes technical server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) to deliver the site securely; we don’t use them to identify visitors.

2. Purchases

Paid orders are processed by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle collects the data needed for payment, invoices, and tax (e.g. email, billing country, payment details) under Paddle’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details.

3. Licensing

To deliver and enforce licenses, our license server (hosted in Switzerland) stores: your email address, your license key, the Paddle transaction reference, and — per activated device — an anonymised device identifier (a one-way hash) plus the device name you chose. We use this solely to send your key, enforce the device limit, and handle refunds. It is kept for as long as your license exists and then deleted.

4. In the apps

Twirly processes everything on your Mac: audio, transcription, text transformations, and read-aloud run 100% locally. Your voice and your texts never leave your device, and we cannot see them. The app talks to the internet for three things: license activation and a daily silent license re-check (both send your license key and a hashed device identifier), and a daily update check that fetches a version file and downloads updates by itself, installing them when you quit (no personal data). If you switch on Swiss German, it additionally downloads that speech model once (about 1.6 GB) from Hugging Face. Nothing else: no telemetry, no crash uploads, no ads.

Super Strong is a Bible study app (Berean Standard Bible text, Strong’s numbers, original-language interlinear). The iOS and Android versions run 100% offline: all scripture, lexicon and morphology data is bundled in the app, and the app makes no network connections at all. The Android app does not even request the INTERNET permission, so the operating system itself prevents it from reaching the network. Both have no account, no analytics, no tracking, and collect no data whatsoever. They are a one-time purchase through Apple’s App Store and Google Play respectively — sections 2 (Purchases) and 3 (Licensing) above do not apply to them; Apple and Google handle payment under their own privacy policies. The macOS version of Super Strong uses the licensing and purchase flow described in sections 2–3.

Mesmerizing keeps your boards as ordinary files in a folder you choose on your Mac — no database, no account, no cloud of ours. The app works without a network connection; it goes online to activate your license and, after that, for an hourly update check. If you put a project in a shared cloud folder (iCloud Drive, Dropbox and the like) to work on it with someone else, that folder is between you and that provider — it never touches our servers. No telemetry, no analytics.

Bananas Booking is the one product here that holds other people's data. When someone books a slot on your public booking page, we store their name, email address and message, plus the appointment time, on our server in Switzerland, so the booking can be shown to you, confirmed by email and written into your calendar. If you connect a calendar, the access credentials are stored encrypted, and only free/busy times are read — never the content of your appointments. You can export or delete your workspace data at any time. Guests need no account.

Pixelator is a free web tool that runs entirely in your browser. Images you open stay on your device — nothing is uploaded, and there is no account, no sign-up and no tracking.

5. Email

If you email us, we use your address to reply. License emails are sent from license@chochicho.ch.

6. Your rights

Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (and, where applicable, the GDPR) you can request access, correction, or deletion of your data — email support@chochicho.ch. Note that deleting your licensing data deactivates your license.

7. Changes

We will update this policy here if our practices change.
